Final Stop: Makalo, Athens!

It’s time to end our little tour… But before that, we will do a great little popup, in Makalo Restaurant, Nikis 23 in the centre of Athens, just a bit further down from Syntagma Square!

This time we have a little change to our menu; Our main dish will be what we call “Circe’s Pig”: a recipe that it was found in between thousand of thrown away papyri in the ancient Hellenistic city of Egypt called Oxyrhynchus. We have followed as close as possible the ancient recipe, and cooked our smoked pork in white wine, juice from white grapes, honey and spices such as coriander seeds, fennel seeds, aniseeds, thyme, pepper.
